Suzie and her Banshees are doing the Friday at 3:30 class...I don't know
whether that's an invitation to join or a warning...:) Seriously, though,
if you have not yet visited this amazing cultural center, you should take
the time and check it out. There is a research library for genetic and
historical research, amazing facilities where they have art galleries, an
amazing wine cellar, it's just a beautiful tribute to the Italian Culture
that should be enjoyed by everyone. Take this opportunity to see all the
amazing programs the Generoso Pope Foundation offers! You will be amazed!
The Fleetwood Neighborhood Association needs your help.
Look, Folks, here's the deal. A Board of 7 people is working very hard to
keep events and information flowing throughout the community. We rely on
our business partners to sponsor our events, and our community to come out
to our events. We need help in planning and implementing, however. I know
that everyone is busy, certainly more so now with the economic events that
are unfolding. However, taking a few hours out of your day or weekend to
help the community goes farther to improve your life and the lives of those
around you than picking up the dry-cleaning or other errands that you may be
doing on the weekend. Here's how you can help us all:
VOLUNTEER! The following duties are needed next weekend:
People with Cars, Vans and SUVs: We need help schlepping the Halloween
Festival materials from the garage to the street. Loading will take place
on Saturday, October 18 from 4pm - 8pm at 131 Villa Street. Can't lift or
carry? No problem! We'll do all the lifting and carrying - you just offer
your car for storage overnight and driving to Grand Street in the
morning...(Schlepping Vehicles need to be at the street location no later
than 9:00am for unloading...)
People to run the festival: This is our most intense volunteer need. We
need help from our community to run the games, crafts, and events during the
Festival. It is SO MUCH FUN! Children come in their halloween costumes,
they are so excited to be there, and you get to make their day complete by
running a game or activity and handing them prizes! (Does it get much
better than that??) We have all sorts of games, from cauldron tossing to
beanbag throws, and activities like crafts, pony rides, raffles, and more!
Can't dedicate 4 hours? no problem! Come for 2 hours and help out - we need
you!
Hang a flyer, spread the word, pick up the hype! We need help spreading the
word. You cannot miss the banner on Grand Street, it's bright orange...but
maybe your neighbors haven't been down there this month - Spread the word!
A flyer is attached to this email for the festival - print it out - drop it
off in your neighbor's mailbox, on their car, whatever suits!
Send a Letter! The link on the last email was not correct - I apologize!!
Here's the correct link to information about CVS:
www.fleetwoodneighbors.org/cvs.php
It's easy to download a letter from there, personalize it, and send it to
the address listed. Help us help the community - raise your voice!
